About Talos

The first machine ever imagined
was a guardian.

In the oldest Greek stories, Hephaestus forged a bronze automaton named Talos and set him to walk the coast of Crete. Three times a day, every day, he made his round of the island, watching for anything that shouldn't be there.

He was the first machine anyone ever imagined — and, in the end, the first machine anyone ever lost. A single small opening at his heel, unnoticed and unwatched, was all it took for him to fall.

Two and a half thousand years later, the machines that build the world still fall the same way: one small thing, unwatched, until it's too late.

"Even the first machine in history fell to one small fault nobody was watching. Talos exists so yours never do."
Built in Antwerp

A small Belgian team, at home in the yard.

Talos is built by our team, a small Belgian team that spends its days with the people who run heavy machines — in construction yards, rental depots, and the docks of the Port of Antwerp.

We started because too many good machines were failing for boring, small, watchable reasons. Talos is the name we gave to the thing we wished existed: a quiet guardian for every machine, no matter its badge or its age.
